We’re Having Fish Tonight! FOB

FOB, stands for Fried or Broiled. This place is a small gem of a seafood restaurant on Blackstone. This isn’t our first time coming here, but it is our first time since we starting doing reviews, so of course we had to come back and refresh our taste buds.

FOB has specials almost every night of the week. I would suggest calling to see the specials for the day before going in. As of right now it’s, Oyster Sundays, Blue Crab Mondays, Crawfish Tuesday, and Lobster Wednesdays.

There is limited parking in the front but don’t worry there is plenty of parking in the back.

FOB has expanded their menu since we last ate there. This of course made us take a little longer to look over the menu and choose our meals.

Since The wife isn’t a big seafood lover, she went with her usual and ordered Fish and chips. At FOB you get a multiple option of seasoning on the fries. She order the regular season.

I like a mixture of seafood, so I ordered a combo plate. Mine came with fish, shrimp, calamari with a side of fries.

They have an array of dipping sauces so we opted to try them all!

When we first walked in there was no one to greet us. We wanted a few minutes and watch servers walk by without a “hello” or even “someone will be with you in a moment”. After about 5 minutes someone said “It’s going to be about 10 minutes to be seat.” Cool, that’s not to bad of a wait. When it was time the serve said we can sit wherever we like. The wife said to me “Why did we have to wait if we were seating ourselves?”

The night was busy because it was Crawfish Tuesday and there was a big party that had been seating before us. Later we found out there were only two servers that work at night. A server that was already off did stay pat their schedule to help about. The food took longer than normal. We got seated at 6:15 pm and didn’t get our food until 7:28 pm.

There are TV’s around to help you pass the time or just sit there and talk to your loved one about your day. Something that most people don’t do anymore, since they have a smart phone. Then comes that time when the food arrives, let me just say, it’s worth the wait. The amount they give you is really good, its worth what you pay.

We were told the manager was going to come over and never did. The wife saw a small cockroach crawl to the table across from us. We got to the restaurant at 6:00 pm and did leave until 8:00 pm.

Overall, If you like seafood, looking for a change and want to treat your taste buds to something different, drive over to FOB and enjoy. The wife however will not be joining me the next time I want to go back.
