Taco Tuesday means lots of places are running specials, so Jen and I decided to go out and try one.
While I was waiting for her to get off work, I was scrolling through Instagram when I saw someone post a picture of some great-looking tacos. I told Jen about it, looked up where the place was, and off we went.
It was just after 2:00 p.m. when we showed up, so we missed the lunch crowd and were able to walk right in.
The lady behind the counter gave us a nice, warm greeting and asked what we would like to order. I told her it was our first time there and that we needed a minute to look over the menu.
Without hesitation, she started telling us about the specials of the day.
Four tacos for $5.99 with our choice of meat.
She didn’t have to go any further. I stopped her there and ordered that.
REVIEW AT A GLANCE
Location: California
City: Fresno
Craving: Tacos
Time for the Tacos
Jen almost always goes for carne asada, so that’s exactly what she ordered.
I went with the carnitas.
Both came piled with meat, diced onions and cilantro on doubled corn tortillas. They were simple, classic tacos and if you’re wondering whether they tasted as good as they looked in the pictures, the answer is yes.
We also grabbed some chile, lemon and salt to go with them.
Don't Forget the Horchata
For a drink, we ordered a large horchata.
Rice milk. Cold, sweet and so good.
Our food was ready within a few minutes. We grabbed the tray and a few condiments, and then Jen pulled out the camera and started snapping away.
The Wife has to get her pictures before we’re allowed to eat.
A Small Place Worth Finding
This was a small hole-in-the-wall taco shop with only about eight tables, but sometimes those little places turn out to have some of the best food.
The restaurant was simple, the staff was friendly, and the service was quick. Most importantly, the tacos were good.
We had a great experience, and I would definitely come back.
Maybe we’ll see you there sometime.

Mike is one half of Couples Dining Out. He’s all about seafood, Chinese food, and BBQ, although ribs don’t make the cut very often because his goatee usually pays the price. Give him a cold blonde beer to wash it all down and he’s happy. And dessert? Unless there’s pie involved, he’ll probably pass.
