It’s Valentine’s Day and breakfast places that decorate and have special foods for just the occasion can be hard to find. That was the case for us. Hubby searched for days looking for one. He heard about one on the radio, called the restaurant and turned out that restaurant isn’t even located in California.
There is a Country Waffles in the Villagio Center here in Fresno, so that’s were we decided to try out. It is a fairly small restaurant. You seat yourself were you want too. The decor is very country, wallpaper everywhere, cute wood carving bears at the front.
Being that it is Valentine’s Day I ordered a Strawberry Waffle and Hot Chocolate. I have issues with soggy food, so I ordered the strawberries on the side.

Although the strawberries came on the side in a gel like sauce it was on the bland side (not very sweet). Since there wasn’t a lot of powdered sugar it didn’t off set the blandness. The waffle was good, there was a slight crisp to them which I love.

Hubby order The Country, which is a sausage patty on a cheese thick toast, cheddar cheese and scrambled eggs topped with gray and a side of potatoes. After eating some he said that he wished he got the hash-browns instead of the potatoes. The potatoes were a bit bland, seemed like there was no seasoning in them.

All in all the Country Waffle was okay. They are a franchise so each location will be different. The cook on duty always plays a huge part in the food that day. The Country Waffle is good on price and the service was on the fast side.
