We had been waiting all morning for the food places inside Universal Studios to open. After getting on Jurassic World first thing and squeezing in another ride on Transformers, we were more than ready for some food.
We found a corn dog stand near The Mummy ride and grabbed a couple of corn dogs with curly fries.
I’m not going to lie, the corn dog was calling my name, but there was something else nearby that caught my attention.
Dessert.
Off and on, on day 1 I checked the app for times for each ride (I highly recommend if you are going there to download this app). Jurassic World had a 120 minute wait time so we decided to come back early the next morning and make that our first ride.
The next morning instead of turning right to go to the Wizarding World we followed the group that was going to Jurassic World. We didn’t know that since the park didn’t open until 9 am (30 minutes later) the theme park was only letting us in to a certain point where we have to wait for about 8:45 am and the slowly escort us to the ride. Down all the escalators with a working in the very front to stop any stampeding that could happen.
We got to Jurassic World Ride and got the very front row in the middle! It was great. I would totally do it again. You get wet pretty darn good. Once we’re done the ride showed it was a 30 minute wait time (not bad) This brings us back to food places not opening up until 10 or 10:30 am. Being it was 30 minutes until then and very limited rides…
Off to Transformers where there was no wait (that became a favorite of mine). About 10 minutes late we were done.
Finally the food places opened up. We got our corn dogs (from the only corn dog place in the park and it isn’t on the map) It’s right next door to The Mummy ride.

Then I Found Studio Scoop
A couple of doors down was an ice cream shop I had already marked as a place I wanted to try: Studio Scoop.
If you love desserts, this place was dangerous.
Looking over the menu, I seriously felt like I could have skipped regular meals and just worked my way through the desserts.
Okay, maybe not every meal.
And there was another problem: Studio Scoop was down on the Lower Lot. I wasn’t about to go down four escalators every time I wanted ice cream!
Since I already had my corn dog, I decided one ridiculous dessert would be enough.
The Chocolate X6 Milkshake
I ordered the Chocolate X6 Milkshake, and calling this thing a milkshake doesn’t really do it justice.
It was a chocolate milkshake topped with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, graham crackers, a brownie wedge and chocolate syrup.
Basically, chocolate on top of chocolate with a little more chocolate thrown in for good measure.
And yes, I was perfectly happy with that decision.
Between the corn dog, curly fries and that giant shake, we had ourselves quite the Universal Studios brunch.
Lunch With a Show
We found a table across from Starbucks and sat down to eat.
One of the fun things about eating inside a theme park is that sometimes the entertainment comes to you. While we were sitting there with our corn dogs and milkshake, a Transformer came out and started putting on a show.
Then we looked toward The Mummy ride and saw two Pharaohs walking around on stilts.
So there we were, eating corn dogs and drinking an absolutely ridiculous chocolate milkshake while Transformers and Pharaohs wandered around us.
Definitely not our normal brunch.
Would I Go Back to Studio Scoop?
Absolutely.
The Chocolate X6 was over-the-top, but that’s exactly what I wanted from a theme park dessert. Studio Scoop had several other things on the menu I would have loved to try, too.
The biggest downside?
Location.
If you’re already spending time on the Lower Lot, definitely take a look. But once I made it back up all those escalators, it was going to take something pretty special to convince me to make another trip down just for dessert.
Although…that milkshake came pretty close.
