Ono Hawaiian BBQ Grand Opening

Today we went to Ono Hawaiian BBQ, a new restaurant that had a pre-opening today. This place is amazing. We walked in and we were immediately greeted with a nice big Aloha! As the wife looked over the menu, I glanced over the decor. It has a modern look to it, nice and clean, with a boathouse feel to it.

The menu has so many different items to choose from, I had a hard time choosing so the wife stepped in and chose for me. She had Lemon Pepper chicken, comes with macaroni salad and veggies.

She picked Teriyaki Chicken, Fried Shrimp and Fried Fish combo plate for me. It too came with rice and veggies. We payed and sat down waiting for our feast to arrive.

During this time, we looked around some more and were able to some unique decor. Like some of the lighting, the wires are hidden by using large tie down boat rope. That’s a new one to me, and I really liked seeing the wires being hidden that way. The condiment section holds some Teriyaki sauce and Katsu sauce that you can dispense into small containers and take with you on the go or to your table. There are also some packages of Soy sauce, Hot mustard, and some Spicey sauce. There’s also some Salt, Pepper packets, and Lemon. Along the side of this is the drink dispenser that holds Coke products.

Now the food arrives. Looks and smells so good, but I cant dig in yet, the wife needs to take the pictures. I let her go first, and she carefully holds up the large ball of rice for a fun picture. Now my turn, I couldn’t wait, before she could snap a picture with her fancy camera, one of the fried shrimp disappeared in the depths of my mouth, lol. Now I let her take one and we can now eat without any further interruptions.  I continued to attack the shrimp, and proceeded onto the macaroni salad. Now, I’m pretty picky about the type of salads I eat, and I must say this one is one of the greatest I ever tasted from a restaurant. I usually never eat these types of salads because I’m used to home made, but this one, oh man, I took half of my wife’s from her, lol. The teriyaki chicken was great tasting as well. I looked up from my plate to see my wife finished the last piece of her lemon chicken, I didn’t even get a chance to ask for a bite. That’s ok, I didn’t give her any of my food either, lol. We really enjoyed our meal and I plan on coming back, very soon. It will be next Friday the 29th!

As i mentioned before I will be returning again on the March 29th. That’s their Grand Opening. From what I was told, they will be having Hawaiian dancers there, and giving away $100 gift cards! So if your looking for something new to try, then this is it.
